Reviving the martial arts of medieval Europe
Dromgoole Historical Fencing is dedicated to the study and practice of the martial arts of Medieval and Renaissance Europe. These complex and sophisticated fighting arts or "Kunst des Fechtens" were lost for centuries, but are now being rediscovered and revived through the modern practice of HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts. DHF's primary focus is the "Kunst des Fechtens" of the Johannes Liechtenauer tradition. These sources date from the 14th-16th century and include the German Longsword, Messer, sword and buckler, dagger, and wrestling.
